  Research Notes:

Possible baptisms:
- 9 May 1759 in Barrow upon Soar,Leicestershire to parents Richard and Rose; needs furher investigation.

Unlikley baptisms
- 24 Nov 1754 in Shrewsbury to parents Joshua and Lydia; unlikely due to subsequent marriage and children.

Although peculiar/unusual, William and Sarah had their children baptised in Birmingham and Wolverhampton. This is confirmed by William's death registration which shows that his daughter Eliana (a.k.a. Aliana, Elyana, etc.) was present at his death. She was baptised in Birmingham and was living in Wolverhampton in the 1830s/1840s.

Two possible reasons:
- William was from Wolverhampton and Sarah from Birmingham; children were baptised in both places to placate their families
- William changed jobs between the two cities; less likely as he would have done this at least five times.

No proof that George was William's son. Birthplace is highly unusual. Leaving in for moment until resolved.

Note that there was another William (and Sarah) Eddowes in Alton, Staffs at about this time:
- born about 1766
- married Sarah Sanders on 29 May 1787
- had a son, James, baptised on 24 Feb 1788
- buried 12 Apr 1791.

Who was the William Eddowes that died in Wolverhampton in 1837, aged 62 (i.e., born 1775)? No birth or marriage records found. Was he the son of Richard (died 1775) and Mary?
