Will, 14 Dec 1640, Greatham, Pulborough, West Sussex, RH20 2ET, GB. 1 In the name of God Amen The fourteenth
day of December Anno Domini 1640 I Katherine Mill of Gretham in the County

of Sussex singlewoman being sicke in body but of good and perfect memorie
praised be God doe make and ordeyne this my last will & Testament in forme
followinge First and principally I Comend my Soule into the handes of
Almighty God my Creator trustinge most assuredly to be saved by the meritte
death and passion of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and by noe other wayes
or meanes whatsoever My body I Comitt to the Earth to be decently buryed in the
Chappell of Pulborowe in the County of Sussex aforesaid And as touchinge
my worldly goods which it hath pleased Gof of his mercy to bestowe on mee I
dispose the same as followeth Whereas my brother William Mill oweth mee
the some of Fiftie poundes by bond And I likewise owe my said brother about Sixe
or Eight pounds for some Comodities that I have had of him I doe freely give and
bequeath the said some of Fiftie pounds unto my said brother William Mill soe as
my said debt unto him be therein Concluded and remitted And whereas alsoe John
Apsley of Pulborow aforesaid Esqr George Smithson and Thomas Smithson of ye
parish of St Andrew Holborne London Vintners by one Obligacon bearing Date
the Fiveth day of May last past stand bound unto me in the some of Two hundred
poundes for the payment of One hundred poundes of lawfull money of England on
the Sixt day of November now last past And where alsoe my brother Thomas Mills
Esqr oweth mee One hundred and eight pounds by bond And whereas my Brother
William Pellatt Esqr hath put forth Fiftie pounds of my money to some persons
whose names I doe not knowe Out of which last mentioned Two hundred Fifie
and eight pounds I give and bequeath to my Brother John Mill the somme of Twentie
poundes of lawfull money of England Item I give and bequeath my sister Elizabeth
Mill my sister Margarett Moncke my sister Elinor Goodman wife of my Executor
hereafter named To my sister Mary Minshaw and to my sister Jane Mill wife of
my said Brother William Mill to every of my said Sisters Six pounds Thirteene
shillings four pence to make them mourninge Gownes Item I give & bequeath to my
Brothers Thomas William Richard John Henry Edward and Francis Mill And to my
brother George Goodman to every of my said Brothers the like Some of Sixe
pounds Thirteene shillings and four pence to make them mourning Item I give to
my Cozen Margarett Coldham the some of Tenn pounds to make her a Ring Item
I give unto Anne the wife of / my cousin John Hallywell the like somme of Tenn pounds to make
her a Ringe Item I give to the poore of Pulborow and Gretham in the County of
Sussex aforesaid the some of Five poundes to be bestowed amongst them at the discrecon
of my Executor hereafter named Item I give to my Cozen John Coldham and my
Cozen Elizabeth Coldham of Waverly to each of them Tenn shillings a peece Item I
give to my Cozen John Hallywell a mourning Cloake Item I give to Jane Newman
my Brother Goodmans mayde Fiftie shillings And to Jane my Brother William
Mill his mayde Fiftie shillings to make them mourninge Gownes Item I give to my
Godsonnes John & Thomas Lampard Twenty shillings a peece Item I give to my
Godsonne John Pellatt the some of Five poundes Item I give to my Goddaughter
Mary Butterwick Five poundes Item I give and bequeath to my Goddaughter Alice
Banister the some of Thirtie shillinges Item I give to my Goddaughter . Harbert
daughter of Mary Harbert Twenty shillings Item I give to every of ye Children of
my Brothers & Sisters Tenn shillings a peece. And I doe hereby nominate & appointe
my said Brother George Goodman to be Executor of this my last will & Testament
hereby revokeing all former Wills by mee made In Witness whereof I have hereunto
sett my hand & seale the day and yeare first above written Katherine Mille Signed

Jane married William Mill, son of William Mill of Greatham, Sussex and Margaret Rolleston. (William Mill was born before 2 Sep 1606, baptised on 2 Sep 1606 in Greatham Parish Church, Brook Lane, Greatham, Pulborough, West Sussex, RH20 2ET, GB 2 and died between 14 Dec 1640 and 15 Jun 1646.)
