  Research Notes:

Thomas's younger brother Edward was of Brede when he married Mary Kemp of Waldron in 1735. They had their children baptised in Lamberhurst and both parents were buried there.

Edward's will (1768) confirms that his wife was the sister of Jane Kemp who married Nicholas Pavey.

Henry Kemp's will (1744) confirms that Jane, Ann and Mary were his daughters.

In the County of Sussex Founder who am week and sickley In body but of
a sound Disposeing Mind Memory and Understanding Thanks be given Unto Allmig-
hty God for the same and Considering the Certainty of Death and the Uncert-
ainty of the Time when do make and Declare this my Last will and testament
In manner and forme Following: and Touching and Concerning all my worldly
Estate with which it hath pleased God to bless me with I Give and Dispose of
In Manner as followeth First I Give and Devise unto my Loveing wife Elizabe-
th all that my Lece hold Teniment with the Appurten[an]ces lying and being in the
parish of Battel in the County afore said and Holden of the Manner of Netherfeild
the Terme of Naturial Life and after her Decease I Give and Devise the afore Said Land
with the Appurten[an]ces unto my Son Richard Kemp and his Heiers for Ever: I Give unto
my Daughter Jane the Sum[m]e of Twenty pounds of Lawfull money of England allso I Give
also to my other Two Daughter Sarah and Jemimah Each the Like Respetive Sum[m]es of
Twenty pounds Each I allso Give and Devise allsoe Unto my Other four Children
That is to Say my Son Harry and unto my Daughter Elizabeth and my Daughter Anne
and my Daughter Mary Each and Every one of them the Like Sum[m]e of Tenn pounds to them
there Heiers and there Assigns I allso Give unto my son Richard my Daughter Sarah and
my Daughter Jemimah Each and Eevery of them One Fether Beed with Stedle Curtins Roods
Bolsters pillers Quilts or any Other Coverings ass they are usally Healed and those Beeds shall be
set forth and alotted by my wife Elizabeth before her Disease or afterwards according to her
pleasure and further More my Mind and will is that those Legaceys shall be paid after my
wifes Decease by such person or persons whome she shall appoint but if she shall think proper
as need may Requier to pay them there Respective Legaceys at her own pleasure and Lastly
for the performance of this my will and Mind I doe Nominate Constitute and Appoint
my afore said wife Elizabeth Sole Executrix of this my Last will and Testament
