• Will, 13 Aug 1698. ² In the Name of God Amen
I Anne Rideout of Mayfield in the County of Sussex Spinster
being in good and perfect health and of sound and perfect mind and
memory praised be God for the same doe make my last Will and
Testament in manner and forme following (that is to say) First and
principally I commend my Soul to God who gave it me and my body
I commit to the Earth from whence it was taken to be decently buryed
in such Christian manner as my Executor hereinafter named shall
think fitt Item I doe give and bequeath unto the poor of the Parish of
Mayfield the sume of five pounds to be distributed amongst them
as me Executor with the assistance of my Overseer shall think fit Item
I give and bequeath unto my Nephew Gabriell Egles the sume of
four hundred pounds to be paid unto him at his age of one and twenty
Yeares Item I give and bequeath unto my Nephew George Eagles
the sum of fifty pounds of lawfull money of England to be paid
unto him at his age of one and twenty Yeares Item I give and bequeath
unto my Nephew Richard Rideout the sume of fifty pounds to be paid
unto him at his age of one and twenty Yeares Item I give and
bequeath unto my Niece Mary Rideout the like sume of fifty pounds of
lawfull money of England to be paid unto her at her age of one and
twenty yeares Item I give and bequeath unto my Niece Anne
Woodgate all my Wearing Apparrell of what nature or kind soever
the same is of Item I give and bequeath unto my Godson John Fowle
ten pounds of lawfull money of England to be paid unto him at his
age of one and twenty Yeares Item I given and bequeath unto my
Godson Paul Gibbes the like sume of ten pounds of like lawfull
money of England to be paid unto him at his age of one and twenty
yeares Item I give and bequeath unto my brother in Law Mr Gabriell
Egles and my Sister in Law Mrs Egles to each of them a Ring of
twenty shillings apiece Item I give and bequeath unto my Neighbour
Mr Hooper twenty shillings to buy him a Ring All the rest and residue
of all my Goods Household Stuff Implements of my household Bills
Bonds Mortgages both reall and personal and all other my Estate
whatsoever I give and bequeath unto Mr Gabriell Egles my brother
in Law And I make declare and appoint the said Gabriell Egles Sole
Executor of this my last Will and Testament and I desire my said brother
in Law Mr Gabriell Egles to be Guardian to my two Nephews
Richard Rideout and my Neece Mary Rideout to manage their Estates
for them according to the Will of my late dear brother Mr Richard
Rideout deceased In witness whereof I the said Anne Rideout have
to this my last Will and Testament being Written in two Sheets of
paper to each Sheete have subscribed my name and to the last Sheete
thereof have set my Seale the thirteenth day of August in the tenth
Yeare of the Reigne of our Soveraigne Lord King William the third

• Will, 6 Feb 1710/11. ³ In the Name of God Amen I Martha Egles of the Parish of Maresfield in the County of Sussex Widow being in Sounde & paerfect mind & memory (praised be God) Doe this sixth day of February in the Tenth Yeare of the Reigne of our Sovereigne Lady Anne by the Grace of God of Great Britain France & Ireland Queen Defender of the Faith etc Anno Dno 1711 make and & ordaine this my last will & Testament in manner following (that is to say) First and principally I commend my Soul into the Hands of God my Creator Stedfastly hoping and believing in & through the meritts o of my blessed Lord & Saviour Jesus Xst to receive a full & free pardon for all my sins and a joyfull resurrection unto Life Eternall And my Body I committ to the Earth to be decently interred in the Church at Uckfield as near as Conveniently may be by my late loving Husband. And as concerning my worldly Goods I dispose of them in manner following Imp[rimi]s after my Funeral & other Expences in my last sickness are discharged & defrayed I give and bequeath to the poor of the Parish of Uckfield Three pounds And to the poor of the Parish of Maresfield in Sussex afores[ai]d Forty shillings to be paid by my Executor hereafter named within two Months after my decease and to be distributed amongst the poor of the said parishes by the Ministers & Churchwardens for the time being of each parish according to their discretion. It[e]m I give unto Sir Geo: Piers my Nephew the sume of Ten Pounds Guineas And to my Godson Geo: Egles my Great Bible & my Silver Cupp And unto my son in Law Geo: Egles my Silver Tankard two pair of fine Flaxxen Sheets with two pair of pillowcoats and a suit of Naper And unto my Goddaughter Martha Goring my Silver Chaffingdish my Olive Box my dressing Box, a fine suit of Damask, two fine Holland Sheets & pillowcoates with my Silver Box of Counters And to my Grandson John Egles one broadpiece of Gold. And to my Granddaughter Elizabeth Goring my gilt Spoon It[e]m I give to the persons following One Gold Ring apiece each Ring to be of Twelve or Thirteen Shillings in value To the Six Gentlemen that hold up my pall at my Funerall The two Mr Courthopes at Wyleigh to be two of them but if not They are however with their wives to have each of a Ring of the value aforemenconed One Gold Ring also to my Son in Law John Egles and his wife and to my son in Law Geo Egles One Gold Ring also to Mr Geo Goring of Chayley & his wife One Gold Ring to the Rev[eren]d Mr Saunders of Buxted & another to the Rev[eren]d Mr Iver of Uckfield It[e]m I give some few Legacies more which I shall leave seald up to be disposed of by my Ex[ecu]tors according to the direction upon each Legacy. • Will, 30 May 1707, Uckfield, East Sussex, TN22, GB. In the Name of God Amen I Gabriell Egles of Uckfield in the County of Sussex Esq knowing the Uncertainty of deathe approaching And being desirous to Settle and dispose of that Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bestow upon me before I am taken out of this sinfull world And being att this time of disposing mind and of good memory And understanding (Thanks bee to given to Almighty God for the same) doe make and ordaine this my Will and Testament in manner following hereby disanulling and making Void all former and other Wills by me att any other time or times heretofore made and published First and principally I Commend my soule into the hands of Almightiy God hoping to receive free remission and forgiveness for my sins and obtain life everlasting through the meritts of Jesus Christ and my body I Committ to the Earth to bee decently buried at the discretion of my Executor hereafter named And as touching my real and personall Estate I dispose thereof as followeth (that is to say) First I give and bequeath unto the poore people of Uckfield aforesaid three pounds unto my Maidservant Elizabeth Jenner twenty shillings if she be living with me att the time of my death and unto my other household servants that shall be living with me also att the time of my death the sume of forty shillings to bee paid them by my Executor as he shall think fitt and Convenient Item I give and bequeath unto Martha my dear and beloved wife all the Jewells Kings Gold Silverplate Linnen and all other Goods and household stuff which she had att the time I married her if the same be in my Custody att the time of my death And also my Coach and the Wheeles Carriages Beases Hammerclothes Horseharnesses Bridles and all other things belonging to my said Coach and Horses and I give her my said wife my two wheel or Hindermost Coach Horses But if it should happen the said Coach horses or any of them should bee seized for a herriott or herriotts upon my death then my Mind and Will is that my Executor shall redeem them or any of them if he can and give them to my said wife or otherwise to pay her five pounds for each horse soo seized. Item I give and bequeath unto my said wife tenn pounds unto my son in law Mr George Goring and my daughter Elizabeth his wife five pounds apiece unto my brother in law Mr John Barham and my sister Lucy his wife the like sume of five pounds apiece; unto my two sisters in law Mrs Mary and Mrs Dorothy Ellis the like sum of five pounds apiece and unto my son George Egles Tenn pounds to bee immediately paid to them and every of them to buy them mourning in remembrance of me. Item I give unto my said sonn George my pockett watch Item Whereas Mr Richard Ballard dec[ease]d gave unto his nephew Mr John Rideout certain Lands and Tenem[en]ts lyeing and being in the parish of Wadhurst in the County of Sussex with th'apputenances and hee the said Mr John Rideout by his last Will bearing date on or about the Nine and twentieth day of May in the yeare of our Lord One Thousand Six hundred Sixty and Seaven, did give and devise unto his father and mother dureing their natural lives and the life of the longest live of them All his lands and Tenements in Wadhurst aforesaid which were given to him by the said Uncle Ballard And after the decease of his said Father and Mother and of the surviving of them he the said John Rideout devised the said Lands and Tenem[en]ts unto Walter Rideout his brother and Mary Rideout his sister for and during the Terme of Sixty yeares imediately from and after the death of his Father and mother and fully to be compleat and ended and to bee equally divided between his said brother and sister provided nevertheless that if his brother Richard Rideout his heires at Law should pay or cause to be paid unto his said Brother and sister Walter and Mary the sume of one hundred and fifty pounds of Lawfull money of England to each of them respectively within the Space of any one yeares not exceeding five yeares imediately from and after the decease of his said Father and mother and of the surviving of them Then the said John Rideout gave the said lands and premises unto his brother Mr Richard Rideout and his heires for ever And whereas the said Walter and Mary Rideout are both dead and before their mother and the said Mary was hereafter married to me (but is since dead) and thereupon I am legally possessed of the said landes and Tenements for and during all the Residue of the said Terme of Sixty yeares by vertue of an Administration to me granted not only the Goods and Chattels of the said Walter Rideout but also of my said wife Mary Rideout Now I doe hereby give and devise unto my Son John Egles his Ex[ecu]tors Adm[inistra]tors and Assignes All my right Title and Interest of in and to the said Lands and Tenements Situate in Wadhurst aforesaid and all moneys due and to bee due out of the same as I am Adm[inistrat]or to my said wife and Brother Walter or otherwise howsoever Item I will give and devise All that my Mannor of Knowle with the Rights Members and Apputenances thereto belonging and all the Rough and plains Lands called Knowle And all that my Messuage or Tenement called Selmsted and all that parcell of Land called the Goodings And all those lands and premises called Finces and Finches Wood Containing together by Estimacon One hundred and fifty acres more or less Situate lying and being in the Parish of Ewhurst in the said County of Sussex And also all those five Severall pieces or parcells of Coppice and Woodlands commonly called or known by the name of Longwood the Wattswood or Wattishillwood the Longlandwood the Church Wood and the Holmwood or by what other name or names the said woods or any of them is or are called or known Containing by Estimation Sixty and six acres more or less and are lying and being in the parish of Ewhurst aforesaid And also all those three pieces or parcells of Marshlandes commonly called by the Severall Names of the T-------------the two little pell Marshes Containing by Estimation Nineteen acres more or less lying and being in Knoll Levell in the parish of Northiam in the said County of Sussex and are adjoining to the Lands late of Sir John Shelley Bart To the Farms and Landes called Gay-Court Farms and to my other Marshlands there called the Seaven acres the two forelands and Great Pell Marsh All which before mentioned lands Tenements Hereditaments and premises now are in the tenure or occupation of me Richard Gill John Gill and William Barnes or our Assignes together with all and Singular their and every of their Appurtenances Unto my said Sonn John Egles and the heires of his body lawfully to be begotten and for want of such issue unto my sonn George Egles and the heires of his Body lawfully to be begotten and for want of such Issue unto my daughter Elizabeth Goring and the heires of her Body lawfully begotten or to bee begotten and for want of such Issue unto my said Sister Lucy the wife of my said Brother in Law Mr John Barham and her heires for ever Item I will give and Devise all that my Messuage or Tenement Called Oakham and Broadmead and all the landes and premises to the same belonging and appurtaining containing by every of their Appurtenances And also all those my Lands and premises commonly called or knowne by the name of Goldspurrwood and Croft containing by Estimation Seaven acres more or less All which premisses are situate lying and being in th'aforesaid parish of Ewhurst and now in the occupation of me and John James our Assignes unto my said sonn John Egles and the heires of his Body lawfully to bee begotten and for want of such Issue unto my said sonne George Egles and the heires of his body lawfully to bee begotten and for want of such Issue to my said daughter Elizabeth Goring and the heires of her body lawfully begotten or to bee begotten and for want of such Issue unto my said Sister in Law Mrs Dorothy Ellis her heires and Assignes for ever Item I will give and Devise All that my Messuage or Tenement and all my lands and premises thereto belonging containing by Estimation Fourscore acres more or less Situate lying and being near Bard and B?Holsters gate in the parish of Ticehurst in the said County of Sussex and now in the tenure or Occupation of George Tuppeny or his Assignes with their and every their Appurtenances unto my said son John Egles and his Heires and Assignes in trust that he or they shall sell the said premisses for the best rate and price that hee or they may gett for the same And the said proceeds by Sale thereof my mind and Will is Shall goo in Aid of the Personall Estate that I shall die seised of; for and towards the payment of my Debts Legacies Funerall Expences and Probate of this my Will; But if it shall happen that my said Son John Egles and his heires cannot so Soone after my death make an absolute Sale of the said premisses as my Severall Creditors shall have occasion for their respective debts due from me at the time of my death Then and in Such Case I doe hereby impower my said Sonn John Egles and his Heires to Mortgage the said premises for any sume or sumes of money as he or they shall think Convenient and necessary until such time as hee or they can make Sale thereof. Item I will Give and Devise All thos my foure Severalle pieces or parcells of Marshland called Seaven acres the two forelands and the great Pell=marsh (together with the Deeds Evidences and writings relating to the same) containing by Estimation Six and twenty acres more or less lying and being in Knoll-Levell aforesaid in the said parish of Northiam and now in the Occupation of Henry Callow or his Assignes and boundeth and abutteth to the Lands late of Sir John Shelley Bart dec[eas]ed to the Channell and Ferry way there to Gay Court Farms and Lands and to other my aforesaid Marshlands called the Ten acres and the two little Pell Marshes unto my said Son George Egles and the heires of his body lawfully to be begotten and for want of such Issue unto may said sonn John Egles and the Heires of his body lawfully to bee begotten and for want of such Issue unto my said daughter Elizabeth Goring and the Heires of her body lawfully begotten or to be begotten and for want of such Issue unto my said sister Mrs Lucy Barham and her Heires and Assignes for ever. Reserving Nevertheless hereby for ever a way through the said last devised Marshlands as the same now is used to and for my said son John Egles his Heires and Assignes his and their tenants and Occupiers Servants and Workmen Carts Cattell and Carriages to pass and repass Carry and Recarry in by over and through the said two little Pell marshes before devised unto my said son John Egles as aforesaid Att all times and Seasons gratis att his and their Wills and pleasure Provided Nevertheless and my minde and Will is That my said son George shall before he or his Guardian enter into and upon take possession or receive the rents and profitts of the said Marshlands and premisses in the said Henry Callows or his Assignes Occupacon grant Assigne & transfere unto my said son John Egles his Ex[ecu]tors Adm[inistr]ators or Assignes All such Legacie and Legacies Sume and Sumes of money that I am anywise obliged to pay him or that was given him or that he hath any Interest in or right and title to or can pretend to challenge and demand by virtue of any Will or Wills Gifts or donations of from or by my late Mother Mrs Chantler dec[eas]ed my late Brother in Law Mr Thomas Porter dec[eas]ed my late sister in law Mrs Anne Rideout dec[eas]ed and my late sonn Gabriell Egles dec[eas]ed or of from or by either or any of them or of from or by any other wayes and means whatsoever or otherwise for the said George Egles his Ex[ecu]tors Adm[inistr]ators to Release my said sonn John Egles his Heires Executors and Administrators therefrom or from payment thereof or any parts thereof And in case my said son George shall refuse to and doe not make over grant Assigne and transfer or otherwise Release unto my said Son John his Heires Ex[ecu]tors Administrators and Assignes All and every his claimes Rights and Interests of and in the said Severall Legacies Sume and Sumes of money due or to be due to my said son George by any of the wayes and meanes aforesaid Then my mind and Will is and I doe hereby declare that the aforesaid Devise of the said Marshlands in the said Henry Callows or his Assignes Occupacon shall be void to all intents and purposes anything herein before Contained to the Contrary thereof in anywise notwithstanding And then I give and Devise the said Marshlands with th'appurtenances unto my said son John Egles and his Heires and Assignes for ever. Item my minde and Will is and I desire my said Brother Barham to be Guardian and Overseer to my said son George and his estate until hee shall come to the age of one and twenty yeares and for his paines and Care therein I Give him five pounds Item my minde and Will is and I desire my said son John Egles to take upon him the Trust and Supervisorship I now or shall have at the time of my death of the persons and Estate of my nephew Richard and Neice Mary Rideout untill such time as they shall severally attain their respective ages of one and Twenty yeares Item and Lastly I make constitute and appoint my said son John Egles Sole Executor of this my Will to whom I give and bequeath after my Debts Legacies Funerall Expenses and Probate of this my Will are paid discharged and satisfied (and after my said wife Martha hath had her Jewells Gold rings silver plate Household Goods Linnen Coach Horses Harness and all things before to her bequeathed) All and Singular my Mortgages Bonds Bills Debts and Creditts Corne, Cattell Husbandry tackling household goods (One Chest or Trunke wherein are the writings belonging to the estate of my said son George only excepted which said Cheste or Trunke I give unto my Said son George In Witness whereof I the said Gabriell Egles have to each sheet of this my will containing in all five sheets of paper sett my hand and seale the Thirtieth day of May in the sixth yeare of the reigne of our Sovereign Lady Anne by the grace of God Queene of Great Britaine France and Ireland Defender of the Faith Anno Die One Thousand Seaven hundred and Seaven Gabriel Egles Signed Sealed published and declared by the said Gabriell Egles the Testator for and as his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who subscribed our Names as Witnesses hereto in the presence of the said Testator

In the name of God Amen I George Goring of Chailey in the County of Sussex gent being in good health of Body and of Sound perfect and disposing mind memory and understanding (God Almighty be praised therefore) do make ordain publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in writing in manner and form following First and principally I commend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God my Creator hopeing for Salvation through the merits of Jesus Christ my blessed Saviour and Redeemer and my body I resign to the earth to be therein decently buried according to the discretion of my Executors hereafter named and as touching the disposition of such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me I doe hereby will give and dispose thereof as followeth And first I give and devise unto my loving wife Elizabeth Goring and to my brothers John Goring of Barcombe gent and John Egles of Uckfield gent and George Egles of Wadhurst gent All that my Mannor of Barcombe with all the rights Members and appurtenances thereunto belonging And also All that Mesuage or Tenement Barns Buildings Farme Lands Hereditaments and premises with the appurtenances and usualy called or known by the name of the Court Farm And also All that Barne Farm lands and premises with'appurtenances called Culvers situate lying and being in Barcombe aforesaid in the said County of Sussex and now in the tenure and occupation of James Cripps Yeoman or his Assignes And also all other my Freehold Messuages Buildings Lands Tenements and Hereditaments situate lying and being in Barcombe aforesaid & which I have not heretofore setled in Jointure on my said Wife Also I give and devise unto the said Elizabeth Goring John Goring John Egles and George Egles all and every my Copyhold Messuages Tenements Barns Buildings Lands Tenements Hereditaments and premises ......... of the Mannor of Allington which I have heretofore Surrendered to the use of my last Will situate lying and being in Chailey and Barcombe aforesaid and now in my own occupacon and in the occupacon of John Heasman and Tho[ma]s Holman or their Assignes And also All that my piece or parcell of Freehold land lying near Copperdsbridge in Chailey aforesaid And also all other my Freehold Copyhold Mesuages Lands and Tenements lying and being in Chayley aforesaid and which are not Setled in Jointure as aforesaid To have and to hold the said Mannor Mesuages Barnes Buildings Lands Tenements Hereditaments as well Freehold as Copyhold and every part and parcell thereof with their and every of their appurtenances unto the said Elizabeth Goring John Goring John Egles and George Egles and their Heirs upon Speciall Trust and Confidenc and to the intent and purpose that they the said Elizabeth Goring Jogn Goring John Egles and George Egles and the Survivors and Survivor of them or the Heirs of such Survivor do and shall with all convenient speed after my decease make Sale thereof and dispose of the moneys arising from such Sale (after the Mortgages and Incumbrances thereon shall be discharged towards the payment of such Debts as I shall owe at the time of my death Also I give and bequeath unto my Aunt Dorothy Ellis to my brother John Goring and to his Wife and daughter to my brother John Egles and to his Wife Son and daughter to my brother George Egles and to his Wife Son and daughter and to my Nephew Thomas Godley and to each and every one of them twenty one Shillings to buy them rings in remembrance of me Also I give and bequeath unto my said Wife and to my Four daughters Mary, Martha, Elizabeth and Dorothy Goring and to each of them the Sume of Twenty pounds of lawfull money of great Britain to buy them mourning Also I give and bequeath to the Poor People of the Parish of Chailey the Sume of Five pounds and to the poor People of the Parish of Barcombe the like Sume of Five pounds to be distributed amongst them by the Churchwardens of the said parishes within six months next after my decease Also I give and bequeath unto every one of my Servants that shall be living with me at the time of my death over and above their wages the Sume of twenty Shillings to be paid them within six months next after my decease Also I give and bequeath unto my said wife Elizabeth Goring the aforesaid John Goring John Egles and George Egles and to the Survivors and Survivor of them all and Singular my goods chattells and Personal Estate or what nature kind or sort soever In Trust also to Sell the same as soon as conveniently may be after my decease and dispose of the money arising by the Sale thereof towards payment of my just debts Legacys and Funeral expences And also upon this further trust that my said Trustees and the Survivors and Survivor of them do and shall pay all such moneys as shall be remaining in their hands after my Debts legacys and Funerall expences are fully paid & satisfied unto my said four daughters Mary Martha Elizabeth and Dorothy Goring share and share • Residence, 2 Sep 1752, Shoesmiths [now Great Shoesmiths Farm], Whitegates Lane, Wadhurst, East Sussex, TN5 6QG, GB. ⁴ The house seems to have been bought in 1622 from the Fowles of Riverhall by a John Barham, great grandson of the first possessor of Great Butts, who married a Dunmoll. He died in 1639 leaving all his property in Wadhurst and Frant to his second son, John. This John married at Frant, Elizabeth, daughter of his cousin, Nicholas of Great Butts, and died aged 31, leaving one son and one daughter. The son succeeding to this property, on coming of age, owned also Buckhurst and Snape Wood. He married Lucy, daughter of John Chauntler. Their only son died in infancy and their only daughter at the age of 16. In this last sorrow, and under the " growing influence of his wife," he executed deeds conveying to her power to dispose of both his real and personal Estate, to the prejudice of his near relations at Great Butts and Riverhall. Her will bequeathed Shoesmiths, then in occupation of her second husband Puxty and W. Clarke, to G. Courthope of Whiligh and another : " to hold after decease of my said husband in trust for G. Eagles of Uckfield."

• Probate, 26 May 1753, Principal Probate Registry, London, GB. ⁴ This will was proved at London the eleventh day of September in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand seven hundred and fifty three before the Right Honourable Sir George Lee Knight Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oath of George Egles the son of the deceased and one other of the Executors named in the said will to whom Administration was granted of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said deceased being first sworn by Commission duly to Administer (power reserved to make the like grant to Richard Beard Streatfield Esqu the other Executor named in the said will when he shall apply for the same.

• Will, 2 Sep 1752. ⁴ This is the last will and Testament of me George Egles of Shoesmiths in the parish of Wadhurst in the County of Sussex Esquire being of sound and disposing mind and memory I give and bequeath unto my Granddaughter Barbara Elizabeth Egles five hundred pounds when she shall attain her age of one and twenty Years Also I give her an Annuity of twenty pounds a year clear of all manner of Deductions for her maintenance and Education untill she shall attain that Age to be paid her Quarterly and to commence from the day of my decease Also I give and bequeath unto my Grandson George Egles and my Granddaughters Goring and Lucy Egles the several sums following (that is to say) to George Egles one hundred pounds and to each of my said Granddaughters fifty pounds when they the said Grandson and Granddaughters shall severally and respectively attain their several and respective Age and Ages of one and twenty Years. It being my will that each legacy shall be payable as they shall successively attain their said Age and not when all of them shall have attained the said Age. Also I give unto my son George Egles and Elizabeth his wife and to my intended son-in-law Mr John Luck and my daughter Barbara Egles twenty pounds for mourning each of them to be paid in one month next after my decease Also I give to my said daughter Barbara all my plate and ChinaWare and to my said son George all my Linnen. Also I give unto Alexander Courthop of Horsmunden and Richard Beard Streatfield of Uckfield Esquire and to Mr William Stow of Stonebridge twenty pounds each for Mourning and to the poor of the parish of Wadhurst aforesaid five pounds. All the rest and residue of my Personal Estate together with all my Real Estate I give and devise unto the said Alexander Courthop Richard Beard Streatfield William Stow and my said son George Egles and their Heires in Trust to sell and dispose of the same to such person and persons and for such price and prices as they or any three of them shall think proper or so much thereof as shall be sufficient for the payment of all my just debts Legacys and Financial Expenses together with the Costs and Expenses of Executing this Trust And I Will and appoint the same to be paid accordingly with as much Expedition as conveniently may be and whatsoever shall remain out of my said Real and Personal Estate after payment of my said Debts Legacys and Funeral Expenses with Costs of Executing the said Trust as aforesaid I give and devise unto my said son George Egles amd his Heires and Assignes for ever And Lastly I nominate and appoint the said Alexander Courthop Richard Beard Streatfield William Stow and my said son George Egles to be joint executors of this my Will hereby revoking all former Wills In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and seal the second day of September in the year of Our Lord 1752
