MATHILDE, daughter of --- (-6 Feb [1216]). An undated charter of "Johannes comes Warennæ" confirmed earlier donations to Thetford Priory by "Willielmus comes de Warennia" for the soul of "Matildis comitissæ uxoris meæ". According to the Complete Peerage, "she is alleged to have been daughter of an Earl of Arundel and to have died 6 Feb 1216". 1


Mathilde married William [IV] de Warenne 6th Earl of Surrey, son of Hamelin d'Anjou 5th Earl of Surrey and Isabelle de Warenne Countess of Surrey.1 (William [IV] de Warenne 6th Earl of Surrey was born in 1166,2 died on 27 May 1240 in London, GB 3 and was buried in Lewes Priory (Priory of St. Pancras), Lewes, East Sussex, BN7, GB 1.)
