  General Notes:

ISABEL de Briouse (-1248). A manuscript which narrates the descents of the founders of Lanthony Abbey names "Isabella, Matildis, Eva et Alianora" as the four daughters of "Willielmus de Brews quartus" and his wife "Evam filiam domini Willielmi Mareschalli", adding that Isabel married "David filio Lewelini principis Wallić". A letter from "L. princeps de Aberfrau, dominus Snauedonić" to "E. de Braus", dated [May] 1230, enquires whether she wishes the proposed marriage between "David filium nostrum et I. filiam vestram" to take place. The Annals of Dunstable record that "Willelmus de Brause…filiam suam" married "Leulino…filio", with as her dowry "castello de Boet", which reverted to her family after her husband died.
