Ellis suggests that the father of Walter de Lacy and Ilbert de Lacy was named Hugh "for each gave this name to a son" .

m EMMA, daughter of ---. "Emma mater Hilberti de Lacei" donated property "in monte…Mainart" to Saint-Amand on becoming a nun, by undated charter. Ellis dates this charter to before 1069 .
