  • Marriage (1): John le Strange of Walden, Essex and Timworth, Norfolk 1

  General Notes:

The wife [of] John le Strange was Elizabeth, sister and heir of William, son and heir of Geoffrey Boteler, of Botelers in Walden, in Essex; and the Walsham inheritance seems to have been vested in this lady, for after the death of her son John Strange, she joined her husband, in the fifteenth year of Richard II, in levying a fine of the manor and advowson of Brockley, to enure to trustees, Thomas Ewell of St. Edmundsbury, and John Hert, chaplain, and their heirs, with warranty from her heirs; and the same warranty was given to Ralph de Walsham and others, when they purchased from her and her husband the manor of Walsham, and lands in Icklingham, Rede and Chevington. 2

Elizabeth married John le Strange of Walden, Essex and Timworth, Norfolk, son of Robert le Strange of Timworth, Nofolk and Mabilla.1 (John le Strange of Walden, Essex and Timworth, Norfolk died after 1392.)
