Adelise
General Notes: ADELISE, daughter of --- (-after 1125). The Chronicle of Gloucester St Peter records that "Adeliza vicecomitissa mater Walteri de Gloucestria" donated "domos, redditus omnes in Gloucestria" to the monastery dated 1125. "Adeliz vicecomitissa" donated "quicquid burgagii in Gloucestria" to Gloucester St Peter, with the consent of "Walterius constabularius filius suus", by undated charter. A charter of King Henry II confirms donations to Gloucester St Peter including the donation of "burgagium in Gloucestria" donated by "Athelays vicecomitissa concessu Walteri filii eius". Adelise married Roger de Pītres High Sheriff of Gloucestershire. (Roger de Pītres High Sheriff of Gloucestershire died before 1086 and was buried in Gloucester Abbey (St. Peter's Abbey) [now Gloucester Cathedral], Gloucester, Gloucestershire, GL1 2LX, GB.) |
