General Notes:
OWAIN (-killed 1172). The Chronicle of the Princes of Wales records that "the king [Henry] proceeded to South Wales and…upon the river Usk he took Iorwerth son of Owain, son of Caradog, son of Gruffudd…[who] with his two sons Owain and Howel…destroyed the town of Caerleon" in 1171. The Chronicle of the Princes of Wales records that "Owain son of Iorwerth" was killed in 1172. 2
