Yr. s. of John Throckmorton M.P. (1385-1445) by Eleanor (Spiney) heiress of Coughton, Warw.; m. Isabel da. and h. of Edward Brugges of Lone, Glos.

Elector, Glos., 1447; on comn., Worcs., 1457; called "of Tewkesbury," he was pardoned in June 1457 as mainpernor of Wm. Herbert of Raglan; and on the pardon roll, 5 Jan. 1458, as "late of Tewkesbury, senior, alias late of Harfield, Glos." (m.21). According to Worcester2 he was one of the 13 Lancastrian Captains who were beheaded with Owen Tudor after the battle of Mortimer's Cross, 4 Feb. 1461\emdash Herbert of Raglan being there on the other side. 2
