SIMON de Montagu, son of WILLIAM de Montagu & his wife Berthe --- (after 1250-26 Sep 1316, bur Bruton Priory). Confirmation of charters in favour of the canons of Christchurch Twynham, dated 27 Nov 1313, includes a charter under which "Simon de Monte Acuto, son and heir of William de Monte Acuto" confirmed a conveyance made by "William de Monte Acuto" of the town of Pideleton, for the souls of "William his father, and Hawise wife of the said Simon" dated May 1287. He was summoned to parliament 29 Dec 1299, whereby he is held to have become Lord Montagu.
